The Place de l’Hôtel de Ville (Square of the City Hall), which it is called the square of Strike until 1830 is situated in the center of Paris 1st district near the Place de Châtelet and Beaubourg, which then sloped to the Seine on the Right bank. The City Hall, in 1357, is the place of meeting at Etienne Marcel, called the house in pillars. The current building dates from 1882. In 1944, it is the headquarters of the resistance.
