Musée de l’Orangerie is an Impressionist paintings museum in Paris 1st arrondissement near place de la Concorde and the Louvre Museum. Located inside the Jardin des Tuileries (Tuileries Garden) in Paris, between the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde, the Orangerie Museum houses the collection of works acquired by Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume. This collection has been bequeathed to the French state on condition that it never be disseminated. The museum is installed since 1927 in an old Orangery of the Second Empire, arranged to house the Nympheas according to the presentation designed by Monet then refitted in 1965 to receive the Walter-Guillaume collection.
