Rue Saint-Dominique is a shopping street located in the center of Paris near the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars in 7th arrondissement on the Left Bank. Lively, perpetually animated, rue Saint-Dominique is renowned for the quality of its old-fashioned shops, has been called since 1631. Its name comes from Dominican monks who were established there at that time. It replaced a path formerly known as Long Raye Road in 1355, Chemin des Vaches, Chemin de la Justice and Chemin des Charbonniers. For a time, a distinction was made between rue Saint Dominique, Saint Germain on side and rue Saint Dominique the Invalides on the other side.
